New developments in the medical industry on show at AstanaZdorovie 2012

Kazakhstan already has an extensive healthcare market, which producers and suppliers of medical equipment have a keen interest in, but there is still a great need for medical innovations to be developed and introduced.

This is where AstanaZdorovie comes in - an exhibition that will once again offer an exclusive platform for discussing healthcare development with a wide range of professionals from the industry.

Around 100 companies from 12 countries including Germany, India, China, the USA and the Czech Republic will exhibit at the event, held from 5 to 7 September in Astana’s Korme exhibition centre. 46% of all exhibitors are making their first appearance at the event, and 35% are travelling to exhibit from outside Kazakhstan. RussCom IT Systems will be carrying out an audit of AstanaZdorovie this year, which will then be used by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, to confirm the event’s international status.

The product groups at the exhibition will be: medical and diagnosis equipment, innovative medical technologies, primary care, laboratory medicine, supplies, rehabilitation and orthopaedics, medical clothing, hygiene equipment, medical furniture, and drugs and medicines. The latest in IT, dentistry, ophthalmology, medical products, cosmetology and international medical treatment will also be offered.

The exhibition is an excellent opportunity for direct contact with producers of cutting-edge medical and pharmaceutical equipment and products. Leading firms will present innovations for the sector including:

  • Photocatalytic air purification technology from the Kazakhstan-based company Tenre-Aerolife will be presented in action
  • The EyeGaze Edge will be presented by Sagat Pharm and its partners Omarlab and LC Technologies - an eye-operated communication system for paralysed patients allowing them to synthesise speech, use computers and control home appliances. In this area, AspaSia will also showcase its biofeedback-based rehabilitation systems for patients with neurological disorders
  • Mikrazim microgranulated pancreatin capsules from Aldimed and Abba Rus - twice as effective as tablets, the capsules reduce pain and symptoms of acute pancreatitis

Other new products on show include the latest optical lenses from Medremzavod, disposable carbon filter masks from Maska, dental equipment from Intermedservice, hospital cleaning equipment from Vileda, disinfectants from Dezopharm, magnetic therapy devices from Modern Technology Lines and an open-air display of ambulances and first aid vehicles from Kazmedpribor.

An integral part of the events involves solving practical problems: enhancing the qualifications of doctors, presenting new medical products, building links with international partners, and informing the public of how to better prevent illnesses.

AstanaZdorovie will feature a business programme of seminars, presentations, and masterclasses from exhibitors. Companies such as Aksel i A, KazMedTech and Mile will give seminars on subjects ranging from the benefits of specific medical equipment such as haematological analysers and disinfecting machines to quality control of pharmaceutical products. Food in hospitals will come under the spotlight in a seminar from the Austrian company Menu Mobil Food Systems, and the Israeli firm Hard Boiled Marketing Solutions will speak on effective management of medical clinics.
