ASTANA ZDOROVIE 2021 – EXHIBITION ON HEALTHCARE OPENED IN NUR-SULTAN
The 17th Kazakhstan International Exhibition on Healthcare - Astana Zdorovie 2021 - has started its work in the capital's EXPO IEC today.
Taking into account modern realities, the healthcare system in Kazakhstan has faced new challenges and tasks, which have identified many topics for discussion and a qualitative exchange of experience. To this end, the entire professional medical community met at the Astana Zdorovie 2021 site.
The exhibition began with a symbolic ribbon-cutting and VIP-tour around the exposition, the guests of honor were Ye.L. Tugzhanov, Deputy Prime Minister, A.V. Tsoy, Minister of Healthcare, A. Giniyat, Vice-Minister of Healthcare, Ye.S. Iskaliyev, Chairman of the Management Board of SK-Pharmacy LLP, Hassan Demirci, Director for Central Asia and the Caucasus at Roche Diagnostics, Heads of industry associations and B.A. Danilenko, Director of Iteca LLP.
The VIP-tour participants noted the high quality of the expositions and the number of presented innovative solutions in the field of medical technology and laboratory equipment. More than 80 companies from Belarus, Germany, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, China and Russia exhibited in 2021, who presented the most modern medical equipment, supplies, medicines and components for their production, as well as medical products. The exhibition was attended by major Kazakhstani companies, including Ordamed, BTL Kazakhstan, Dolce, Micro Solutions, Axel & A, Artel Engineering, Bioline-Kazakhstan, Elamed-KZ, MEDRUG.
On the first day of the exhibition the visitors enjoyed a rich business program. The First International Forum on Medical Technology "MedTech" brought together industry professionals and served as an effective platform for sharing experiences and discussing key issues in the development of the pharmaceutical industry. At the Forum, representatives of the Ministry of Healthcare and its branch structures, experts, business representatives and specialized associations discussed the current state and concept of improving the system of medical equipment supply of healthcare organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the current state of domestic production of medical equipment, the issue of registration and examination of medical equipment, the capabilities of domestic medical industry, etc.
Addressing the participants of the Forum, Yeraly Tugzhanov, Deputy Prime Minister noted that holding this event during the pandemic is relevant: "The pandemic has shown that today it is necessary not only to provide ourselves with vaccines, medicines, but also with medical equipment. In Kazakhstan, we have made this a priority. We have great potential and opportunities."
Vice Prime Minister said that in execution of the order of Head of State the Government adopted a special comprehensive plan for development of pharmaceutical industry of Kazakhstan, whose implementation will increase the share of drugs and medical products produced in Kazakhstan up to 50% by 2025.
Speaking about the further development of healthcare system infrastructure, Ye. Tugzhanov said that by 2025, it is planned to build at least 20 modern hospitals, 3 cancer centers, 12 laboratories, and a center for laboratory and technical testing of medical products. When equipping them with medical equipment, priority will be given to domestic manufacturers.
The strategic session of the Forum was also attended by A.V. Tsoy, Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As the Minister noted in his report, the Message of the President to the people of Kazakhstan dated September 1, 2021:
"The unity of the people and systematic reforms - a solid foundation for prosperity of the country" is to increase cooperation with global pharmaceutical corporations and to ensure the transfer of technology and new developments. The share of domestically produced drugs and medical products must be increased from the current 17% to 50% already in 2025," said Alexei Tsoy.
The Minister informed that an analysis of the provided need from 2021 to 2025, as well as the issue of funding sources, is currently being carried out. In general, the approximate amount of the planned need for the purchase of medical equipment in priority areas amounted to more than 180 billion tenge. According to the order of the Head of State, the main attention will be paid to the service of obstetrics, childhood, anesthesiology and resuscitation.
The business program was continued by the Regional Conference of laboratory medicine specialists of RK, the main topics of which were epidemiological safety and laboratory personnel protection under COVID-19 conditions.
The exhibition also included presentations and seminars by medical companies and industry associations.
Special attention at the exhibition was paid to safety rules and sanitary-epidemiological measures. At the expo-event site, basic anti-coveting rules were followed, including social distancing, use of PPE by participants and visitors, use of antiseptics and disinfectants, cleaning and treatment of stands with disinfectants. The new registration system made it possible to distribute the flow of visitors by time and thus maintain the recommended number of people in the exhibition hall. Ashyq QR code scanning system has become a reliable tool for security preservation, was able to implement strict exclusion of visitors with COVID-19 threat from entering the exhibition.
The exhibition will last for two more days, tomorrow there will be the First International Pharmaceutical Forum "Global Pharm" and the Regional Conference of laboratory medicine specialists of RK will continue its work.
